Karamo Sanneh, a younger brother to Sulayman Jonkong Sanneh who died together with his two sons in a landmine explosion in Gambian territory, is calling on the authorities to investigate the cause of his senior brother’s dead and if there is any foul play, for justice to guide their action and the culprits to be brought to book. He said he could not just understand how a landmine is buried in Gambian territory which is not at war.
Karamo said they cannot come to conclusion as to the cause of his brother’s death but he is 100 % (percent) relying on police investigation to come up with the cause of Sulayman’s death.
Sulayman Jonkong Sanneh met his untimely death on Thursday, 30 March, 2017 while he was with his two sons, Sheikh Omar Sanneh and Yaya Sanneh on a horse cart going to fetch firewood. As they moved along the road from Wassadou village towards the Casamance end they stepped on a Landmine that exploded and resulted to the death of Sulayman Jonkong Sanneh and his sons.
It happened in the Gambia territory about 300 metres from the Casamance/Gambia border. He is survived by a wife and six (6) children.
