BRILLIANT STUDENTS EXCLUDED FROM UNIVERSITY ENROLMENT

B or C in all subjects except mathematics .When one asks their subject of study, they would mention humanities and the social sciences. One wonders why a young person with credit in all subjects and a pass in Mathematics could not be enrolled in the University to Major in the Social Sciences .There is need to review the enrolment criteria for the University. The number of students who have very good grades in all subjects and at least pass in Mathematics need to be identified and quantified. Special programmes could be launched to assist such students improve on areas of Mathematics which are relevant to their field of study. Universities are meant for the community. Hence it should revise its policies in order to accommodate the aspirations of the community.  ]]>
