One Musa Ceesay of Sukuta allegedly locked his mother in a house and set it on fire. According to the information gathered, Musa lives in the house (two rooms and a parlour) with his mother and girlfriend.
The mother reportedly asked the girl to leave, which left Musa Ceesay furious and he went to purchase petrol. Upon arriving at the compound, while his mother was in the house, he padlocked the door and poured petrol before setting the house on fire. He ran away.
Neighbours were able to rescue the mother before the fire spread throughout the house.
The reporter spoke to the mother while she was at the Sukuta police station. She informed Foroyaa that she had sustained some burns and wounds.
After the matter was reported to the Sukuta police station, the police quickly started hunting for Musa culminating in his apprehension and detention.
