Bombada Wins Banjul United, Real de Banjul Extends League Lead

Bombada Football Club triumphed 4-2 against Banjul United on Sunday and Real de Banjul also extended their lead in the league table with a 1-nil against Team Rhino.

Bombada’s win was their second in their last 2 outings. They came from behind to beat Banjul United. Famara Jarju gave Banjul United the lead in the 19th minute before Suwaibou Kebbeh leveled the score for Bombada in the 30th minute. Famara Jarju scored the second for Banjul United but Modou Lamin Jatta equalised the score bringing the match to 2-2. Dodou Touray scored to give Bombada a 3-2 lead before Modou Lamin Jatta added to make it 4-2 in favour of Bombada.

The win moved Bombada to 9th position in the standings with 24 points in 19 matches. Bombada has 6 wins, 6 draws and 7 defeats. They are 9 points from the top four spot. Bombada will play next against Greater Tomorrow on 17 April at the Brikama football park.

His goal game through a cross which dropped in the crowded Rhino defence line, a clearance was made but Touray collected it and hammered the ball inside the net.

They also scored the highest number of goals so far with 27 goals and they also conceded less than all the 16 teams in the league with 8 goals against. They have 42 points while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams are all equal on 33 points. Real will play against struggling Brikama United on 18 April at the Brikama football park.

Team Rhino, despite the loss, have a good season as they sit 4th in the table with 33 points. The defeat to Real de Banjul dropped them to 4th place.
