By Sulayman Bah WCR-based Bombada continued their recent shaky run this time drawingBombada1 goalless as they failed to get past sixth-placed Hawks. Bombada has been symbol of consistency at one point topping the standings in the first phase of the league. So convincing was the side’s displays, pundits tipped them to scoop the league gong at the first attempt as the outfit matched rest of the title-chasers. However so patchy they’ve turned that Bombada has dropped six places from the top spot. Elsewhere the dogfight at the bottom of the standings is getting tenser as less performing clubs fight to wriggle out of relegation zones with seven games to end of the current league campaign. Serrekunda United have sat at the bottom of the table since from the onset recording the lowest of statistics before inserting a new lease of life to their run of the league picking two straight wins –against Bombada and Gambia Armed Forces. SK United side managed to get past the Soldiers courtesy of a lone goal on Saturday. The victory –the club’s second in fifteen games –renews the outfit’s primary target of staying up in the division after three years of inconsistent runs shuttling between the first and the second tiers. They’ve amassed ten points equal with relegation threatened Bakau United. SK has played more games than Interior, Wallidan and Bakau United –a trio of clubs they face competition with to avoid demotion. The readings remain the same atop the league with Real de Banjul and Gamtel tied on 28 eight points each after both sides drew. Real were held by second-placed Brikama United to a goalless stalemate while Gamtel shared points with Bakau United. Seventh-placed Wallidan and Gambia Ports Authority match was called due to bereavement.        ]]>
