By Mustapha Jallow Alhaji Kebba Touray, a businessman, who runs a clearing and forwarding agency, has now been under state detention at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul for 4 months 6 days, according to a close reliable source. He was also said to be sick and bed-ridden for six months.Mr. Touray was arrested around 2 pm at his residence at Tobacco Road in Banjul by men identifying themselves as agents of the NIA who asked him to accompany them to a meeting at state house on Saturday, 24 January, 2015 but found himself at the NIA headquarters where he is still held. Family sources say they were denied access to him. “We’re still worried and traumatized about his state of health and we therefore call on the concerned authorities to help us release our beloved brother,” a family member appealed. Reports indicate that in 2009, Mr. Touray was arrested and later released in the wake of the arrest of Lt. Gen. Lang Tombong Tamba, a former Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), and seven others who are serving a term of life imprisonment.]]>
