Modou Barrow’s price tag is on the increase every day amid big
clubs interest in the Gambian.
Barrow court eyes of scouts while on trial for Bolton Wanderers. The impressed championship outfit made an opening £600,000 bid –a thing Swedish club Osterstunds shunned.
That proposal alerted array of English premier league clubs namely; QPR and Hull City and recently Scottish league giants Celtic, all throwing their hats in the ring to secure Modou’s services leading to day-by-day increase of the attacker’s market valuation.
The current market price tag is in excess of 1.5 million pounds. Bolton will have to cough up that amount or risked being gazumped to the deal Hull, QPR, Swansea City or Celtic who are considered favourites to land the ex-Norrkopping ace.
Talks are already at an advanced stage with the aforesaid club representatives to meet Ostersund’s club board in coming days.
A transfer looks to be finalized at least next week with representatives from Hull, QPR or Bolton to meet Ostersunds on the day of the Swedish club’s derby match against league leaders GIF Sundsvall.
Should the 21-year-old who has five goals so far in the season, pen an agreement, he will be the first Gambian player to play in the EPL.
