The Gambian-born, who is though yet to be capped with the Scorpions at international level, has been the subject of transfer talks with a litany of English premier league clubs battling to secure his services. Newly promoted ELP outfit QPR of manager Harry Rednapp are mooted to pip rivals Hull City and championship outfit Bolton wanderers to signing the winger with talks between the player’s current employers Ostersunds and the aforesaid teams at an advanced stage. However, Modou insists he is rarely fazed by rumours surrounding his future and is instead more concerned about propelling his second tier Swedish club for promotion to the top flight. Breaking his silence since the start of talks of his possible transfer, the 21-year-old pacy attacker -recently named in Afrobladet top best 20 revelations of the year – , and who scored his eight goal of the season this week, said : “It’s really important to get on the score (sheet), especially when you hear all the rumors (about my possible transfer). Not to get bothered, I just do as before and showing will for more goals.” Responding to question over his chances of seeking new challenge, he told Bladet, “Daniel (Kindberg, chairman) will take care of that, my job is to be on the field and do the job. If there is a chance (of moving), they may decide what they want and what I want. Right now, I’m still here and I am in no hurry.” Bolton, who initially trialed barrow, have had an opening bid of 600,000 pounds turned down.
