The National Assembly Member for Banjul North Constituency, Hon. Modou Lamin B. Bah, on Friday 1st September 2023 donated D50, 000 to Nawettan football teams in his constituency. The donation is part of Hon. Bah’s yearly constituency development and sustainability (CDS) program when he gives annual support to his constituents.
Hon. Bah said during his campaign in 2022, he promised the young people of Banjul North that sport will be part of his development agenda. That since the time he was elected to the National Assembly, he has engaged the football teams to know their constraints in order to support them with the little he can.
“As a representative, my task is not to be at the Assembly only, but to also support the community with some developments. My take as a NAM is to give back to society, and I will use part of my earnings to continue to support my people,” he said. He said nine teams benefited from the cash assistance this year.
“We came up with this support because we have engaged the teams to know their constraints. For one to genuinely support, one must know what exactly the people want and that is what we have done,” Bah said, and continued that he will support the development agenda of the young people of Banjul North, as long as he remains their representative.
