Bakau United has denied reports linking its midfielder to one of GFF
first division clubs, Foroyaa Sport can report.
A bevy of clubs from within the first Eco sponsored Gambia Football Federation league have been touted with interest in acquiring Musa Yaffa’s services. Hawks were reported to be fronting the race to
secure the player’s signing.
For the club’s alleged interest, Hawks were purported to be locked in
a standoff with the employers of the player Bakau United. The matter, a
report claimed, was even the subject of investigation by the
GFF.
But amid this, Bakau United has moved thick and fast to rebut any
talks of a transfer.
Seedy Kinteh –the club owner –told Foroyaa Sport yesterday: ‘It’s not
true. Musa Yaffa is a Bakau United player. He is with us and has not
moved anywhere. If clubs are interested, we, as a club, are happy to
hold negotiations with that particular club. The player has the right
to decide where he wishes to move. But he is playing for us and
training with the team.’
Efforts to reach Hawks Football Club yesterday proved to be in vain.
Reached for comment a GFF official said he isn’t aware of any case
concerning Bakau United.
Musa has been numerous times called to the Gambia senior team
including the qualifier against Ivory Coast.]]>
