By Sailu Bah The family of the late Bakary Bojang, alias Gosso, the mentally deranged young person who was reported to have died during the shooting incident near state house late last year, is renewing its appeal to the authorities to release the corpse of their loved one to enable them to give him a fitting burial. “Now that the court martial is over, we are hoping that the corpse of our brother will be finally given to us to take him to his final resting place. We are appealing to the state to help us in facilitating this handing over,” said the brother of late ‘Gosso’. He told this reporter yesterday, Monday, April 06, that the family members are all hopeful that the corpse will soon be given to them after more than three months when he was reported dead on 30 December 2014. “We want to give him a proper burial in keeping with the Muslim religious rites for him to rest in peace,” he said emotionally. It was reported that ‘Gosso’ and others are being kept at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) mortuary in Banjul and not yet released to the families for proper burial. Asked whether the authorities have at any time contacted them on the issue, the relative responded in the negative, adding that no one has ever came to their home in relation to their brother’s death. He concluded that they are expecting to be contacted any time soon concerning the handing over of the corpse. ]]>
