By Mustapha Jallow Information reaching Foroyaa has it that Jariatou Lowe who has been in detention for 36 day, was released from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) detention centre at Banjul on Thursday, February 5, 2015, around 8pm.According to a family source, Mrs. Lowe has finally re-united with her family after spending 36 days in an NIA detention centre in Banjul. The family source also reveals that Yusupha Lowe, a 13 year old, Pa Alieu Lowe (19 years old) are said to be still under detention at the NIA for 37 days without release or access to them; adding that both are students and hey are missing their classes. The fact is that the trio are the son, younger brother and ex-wife respectively of Baboucar ‘Bai’ Lowe, former Warrant Officer Class 2 of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), a dissident based in Germany and purportedly involved in the 30 December 2014 attack on State House. They were arrested and detained by the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) operatives since 1 January 2015. A family source added that the trio was picked up around 3pm at Lamin on 1 January 2015 by men in plain clothes who claimed to have got their orders from the Office of the President. The men took them away in a waiting vehicle with tinted glasses. The source added that they do not have access to them or know the reason for their arrests. ]]>
