Gambian award-winning author, Modou Lamin Age-Almusaf Sowe, is set to launch another book on 7 April, 2021 via Facebook Live from 4-6pm GMT.

AfriKa Not AfriCa, a collection of poems, is the third book he has published yet. Sowe’s first book- The Memories of Reflection- was published in 2014 while his second- The Throne of the Ghost- was published in 2016.

This event is a joint effort of Ukiyoto Publishing and the World Writers’ Association (WoWA) – an association Sowe is the head.

The theme of the book launch is “The Role of Pan-Africanists and African Writers in the Promotion of African Literature.”

“This event will examine research and development both locally and internationally,” the author said in an invitation letter for the book launch.

The former secretary general of the Writers’ Association of The Gambia (WAG) added: “We look forward to having you watch this thought-provoking conversation which involves Africa’s and the world’s leading writers and Pan-Africanists.”

One of the buyers of the book online said this: “This book focuses on our contemporary society touching every aspect of it.”

“Right from the title, the book gives a great desire to be read. Personally, being a pan-Africanist, I find this book as the missing piece of the puzzle in the way that it describes African realities regarding politics, society, religion, etc. Hopefully, the author will publish more interesting books,” said another buyer, Phillip Correa.
