Information reaching this medium has it that Armed Robbers on Tuesday night, 21 December, 2021 attacked Bakalaar buying centre (Secco) and went away with the cash they found at the secco.
According to the source, the AGIB representative at the secco, the president of the secco and the watchman are currently in police custody at the police headquarters, helping them in their investigation.
An insider in the secco informed this reporter that their secco received a cash supply of D700, 000 (Seven hundred thousand Dalasi) on Tuesday. However, he said that the Armed Robbers went away with little cash because the supply came at a time when there was credit buying which they paid from the supplied cash, adding that the balance was what the robbers went away with.
When contacted, the Barra Depot Circle Area Representative, Samba Sallah, confirmed the story, but he was quick to add that he does not know how much the Armed Robbers took.
“I do not know how much the armed robbers have gone with because I am yet to get in touch with the secco president whose phone could not reach,” Samba Sallah stated.
According to the secco manager, Binta Sillah, confirmed that the story took place at around 04:00 hours when the watchman shouted her name.
“I was in my compound when the watchman shouted my name Binta, Binta… but the thieves have gone away with the secco money, I was afraid to open my door, and in the morning, I found the police at the secco,” she stated.
With regard to the alleged amount the armed robbers took, the secco manager said it is only the AGIB Representative who can tell, and she is currently with the police.
Attempts to reach the police public relation officer proved futile at the time of going to press. Foroyaa will contact the police to shed more light on the story.
