AN ATTEMPT TO TIE THE HANDS OF THE IEC WITH BAD LAWS BEFORE A MAJOR ELECTION WHAT TYPE OF LEGACY FOR CHAIRMAN CARAYOL?

63

His term has expired. Why should he be unlawfully kept in office up to the end of the enactment of bad laws aimed at promoting self-perpetuating rule against the letter and spirit of the Constitution. An elderly man like Mr Carayol is likely to be dumped in the name of complying with the opposition demand after all the bad laws are put in place. The executive could have assisted him to leave a memorable legacy by sitting with the opposition to agree on genuine electoral reform and then give him a send off to final retirement with honour. He deserves this after 19 years of service as an election umpire. Foroyaa calls on all those who love Mr. Carayol to petition him to give up the office of chairman of IEC before these bad laws are passed so that he would not be associated with them.]]>
