As indicated in yesterday’s edition, the charge sheet for trial of
five agriculture officials was amended on Monday, effectively
discharging three of them while charging another three. Below is the
full text of the charges.Fafanding Fatajo, Project Coordinator of FASDEP, Omar Jammeh,
Financial Controller, Alieu Gaye, Accountant, Bakary Kujabi,
Procurement Officer, and Burang Danjo of the ministry were indicted
with 18 criminal offences at the Banjul high court.
Count 1 Neglect of official duties: Prosecutors alleged that Fafanding
Fatajo, Omar Jammeh, Alieu Gaye and Bakary Kujabi, whilst being
members of the Contract Committee of FASDEP in their respective
capacities as Project Coordinator, Financial Controller, Accountant
and Procurement Officer, neglected their official duties by awarding a
contract for the training of FASDEP staff on Microsoft Excel in the
sum of D190,000.00 to a firm (SCENSA) that was not registered with
the Gambia Public Procurement Authority (GPPA) as required under the
GPPA Act.
Count two states that Fatajo, Jammeh, Gaye and Kujabi whilst being
members of the Contract Committee of FASDEP in their respective
capacities as Project Coordinator, Financial Controller, Accountant
and Procurement Officer neglected their official duties by awarding a
contract for carrying out needs assessment for community/municipal
markets in the sum of D195,000.00 to a firm (SCENSA) that was not
registered with GPPA as required under the GPPA Act.
On Count 3, Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo are alleged to have
conspired amongst themselves to forge the invoices of B&B TRAINING
INSTITUTE for bidding process for the award of contract for training
of FASDEP staff on Microsoft Excel.
It further states that Fatajo and Danjo forged the invoices of DL IT
TRAINING for bidding process for the award of contract for training of
FASDEP staff on Microsoft Excel and thereby committed an offence.
The duo is again alleged to have conspired amongst themselves and forged the
invoices and logo of FREEDOM FROM HUNGER CAMPAIGN for bidding process
for the award of contract for carrying out needs assessment for
community/municipal markets.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo are alleged to have conspired amongst themselves to
forge the invoices of MALAMIN DUMBUYA AND TEAM for bidding process for
the award of contract for carrying out needs assessment for
community/municipal markets.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo are alleged to have conspired amongst themselves to
forge the invoices of MALAMIN DUMBUYA AND TEAM for bidding process for
the award of contract for carrying out needs assessment for
community/municipal markets.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo, are alleged to have conspired amongst themselves to
utter false invoices of B&B TRAINING INSTITUTE for bidding process for
the award of contract for training of FASDEP staff on Microsoft Excel.
Mr. Fatajo and Mr. Danjo, are alleged to have conspired amongst themselves to utter false
invoices and logo of FREEDOM FROM HUNGER CAMPAIGN for bidding process
for the award of contract for carrying out needs assessment for
community/municipal markets.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo, are alleged to have conspired amongst themselves to
utter false invoices of MALAMIN DUMBUYA AND TEAM for bidding
process for the award of contract for carrying out needs assessment
for community/municipal markets.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo, forged invoices of B&B TRAINING
INSTITUTE for bidding process for the contract for training of FASDEP
staff on Microsoft Excel.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo forged invoices of DL IT TRAINING

Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo, are alleged to have uttered false invoices of DL
ITTRAINING INSTITUTE for bidding process for the award of contract for
training of FASDEP staff on Microsoft Excel.
Fafanding Fatajo and Burang Danjo are alleged to have uttered false invoices and logo of
FREEDOM FROM HUNGER CAMPAIGN for bidding process for the award of
contract for carrying out needs assessment for community/municipal
markets.
On the last count, the duo is charged for uttering false invoices and
logo of MALAMIN DUMBUYA AND TEAM for bidding process for the award of
contract for carrying out needs assessment for community/municipal
markets.
However, when the charges were read out to the accused persons, they
