By Sulayman Bah A date for the Annual General Meeting of Gambia Wrestling Association (GWA) is due to be announced soon. Picking a day for the schedule has been a major bone of contention for the last months until stakeholders in the arena lodged a formal complaint to the National Sports Council. The petition, signed by a dozen players in the arena sought to push the country’s wrestling body to relay to stakeholders its entire activities for scrutiny. This move came in the wake of brewing tension in the arena. The council listened to arguments of both stakeholders and the GWA before urging for calm and advising the latter to stage an AGM within the first week of September. Heeding the council’s words, the GWA set plans rolling and all was set for an annual general meeting until announcement of a set-setal this Saturday forced a sudden change. The GWA executives are due for an emergency meeting to evaluate the situation and possibly to pick a new date for the event this week, Foroyaa Sport understands.]]>
