A New Start For The Gambia

The radio stations are now broadcasting divergent views and dissenting opinion without any fear of closure of their enterprises. Prisoners who were detained without trial are now being released. People are putting on t-shirts which used to attract the attention of security personnel who would arrest them on sight. Everything is turning in the opposite direction.

This new found freedom should lead to the building of a culture of voluntarism, passion for justice, transparency and accountability and a national drive for people centred development.
