ROLE OF WF IN THE DECRIMINALISATION OF SOCIAL LEGISLATION AFFECTING WOMEN?
Freedom of Association is meaningless if it is not utilised to be vocal in addressing issues which affect the members of a given group. Foroyaa is aware that groups of service women are deployed in various centres and their families are still wondering what has given rise to such development.
The speculations are many and effort will continue to be made to know what form of order has given rise to their current state of affairs.
One thing that we want to re-echo is that criminalising fashion and choice of appearance is not in line with justice. There are certain conducts like smoking cigarettes which are left to civic education. Women rights groups should examine all social legislations and call for the repealing of any criminalisation of behaviour which makes women vulnerable.
