Gambia Ports Authority over the weekend sashayed over Banjul United to retain their sit atop the league table.Ports hoping to open up gap

The Ferry Boys have, on account of their run of games, shown flashes of taking back their status as one of the league top elephants, beating capital rivals Banjul United 2-1.

The victory puts a temporary sigh of relief on coach AlagieSarr but that will depend on the outcome of Samger’s game against Wallidan, in a battle of third-placed teams with a winner sure to close the gap on the leaders to two points.

Samger and Wallidan both are on ten points and were in action yesterday as we went to press.

Meanwhile Steve Biko has moved to occupy the championship’s second best slot following their slender 1-0 win over a hapless Hawks who sat third from bottom at press time with no single win yet.

Surprise of Saturday’s busy schedule went to champions Gamtel’s game against West Coast Region-based Bombada Football Club as they tamed Tapha Manneh’sGamtel to an enthralling two-all stalemate.

Gaffer Manneh’s charges’ display left much to be desired coupled with their strings of past games with a shocking record of two wins for a side billed to represent Gambia next month in the Caf Champions League Preliminary round.
