The spokesperson of the Gambia Immigration department, Cadet Inspector Saidu A.M. Bah on Thursday, 7th August at his office in Banjul, said his department is not aware of the reported mass killing of Gambians that occurred in Libya. “We are not in a position to confirm the blast in Libya,” said PRO Bah. Mr Bah said, “in relation to any external issues, the ministry of Foreign Affairs communicates to the ministry of the Interior and then, the ministry of Interior will communicate to us.” The two responsible ministries were visited for an interview on the issue yesterday. At the ministry of Foreign Affairs, a staff told Foroyaa that the permanent secretary was very busy and that the secretary who should give appointment has gone out of the office. Elsewhere in the ministry of interior, this reporter was promised that he will be called to meet the PS on the issue of the reported blast. A Gambian resident in Libya has appealed to the Gambia government to evacuate Gambians there as Libya is not safe at the moment.]]>
