QUESTION OF THE DAY
WHAT DID THE PRESIDENT SAY TO THE CHRISTIANS ON CHRISTMAS DAY?
Does he need to make further clarification?
The President said:
“In his earthly Ministry, Jesus Christ preached and extolled the virtues of peace, tolerance, love and compassion. It therefore behoves us as God fearing children of Adam, to resolve at Christmas and beyondto uphold the ideals of peace, harmony, tolerance, love and compassion to all. This is all the more important now that the world has to contend with the global threat of Dangerous Human vermins disguised as
religious fanatics some as Evangelicals and the rest as Muslims.
“We are especially thankful to Allah the Almighty for the religious harmony in this country, which continues to serve as an example to communities and nations around the world. Therefore, Government will not relent in safeguarding the status quo.”
The status quo means that the situation would remain as it is without any fundamental changes. We would now want to ask whether this is assurance to sovereign citizens who have chosen to be Christians that they would not be deprived of holding public office because of their belief? Time will tell.
