The recent use of bulldozers to clear certain path in the border near the village of Tranquil has caused much confusion. No authority has informed the villagers in advance. Poor people take years to accumulate property and any damages which go with demarcation should lead to explanation, apology and compensation.
The two governments should set their border commission to work to review the border, discuss with the possible victims and conduct their demarcation after the people are fully informed.
Foroyaa will follow the plight of those affected by the border demarcation exercise.
