By Sulayman Bah Work has started in earnest with the setting up of a Normalization Committee as the new football overseers set out initiating plans for the election of a new board.Alagie Sillah The five member body with AlagieSillah as its chairman, set up as replacement of the Kebbeh leadership, is tasked to manage the affairs of the federation and liaise with stakeholders with a view to bringing to the scene new office-bearers. However, work has commenced with members of the FIFA-backed NC already taking up position at the Football House, a source tells this publication. They have until September to fix the missing pieces dogging Gambian football – a task considered daunting –amid reports abound, like the defunct first Normalization Committee, Sillah and crew could seek mandate renewal from the World football governing body with their current three month space thought to be inadequate. Kebbeh’s reign at the helm of the GFF was brought to an abrupt end after FIFA, acting on exceptional powers, decided to disband it saying the then executives lacked stakeholders’ confidence and trust after its costly gaffe had Gambia suspended for two years from international football. Kebeh’s camp has always denied wrong doing attributing the howler to administrative lapses dating back during the period of the former GFA. Meanwhile, of priority to the new shakers and movers at the GFF will be winning over football delegates so divided in perception.  ]]>
