RESPECT THE LETTER AND SPIRIT OF THE CONSTITUTION AND WE WILL HAVE PEACE HOW DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS GROUPS SHOULD COMPORT THEMSELVES

Section 25 of the Constitution subsection 1c states that “every person shall have the right to freedom to practice any religion and to manifest such practice.” Section 7 of the Constitution paragraph f domesticates the application of the sharia for Muslims “as regards to matters of marriage, divorce and inheritance among members of the communities to which it applies.” We are yet to have Cadi’s courts based on sects. Hence, there is tolerance or divergence in sects and each is free to convince followers. Individuals and communities should continue to manage the differences and use positive messages to win others to their side. This is how to prevent the ISIS syndrome. The media should avoid sensational coverage which could drive a wedge between communities. Not all comments are fit for dissemination.  ]]>
