INVITATION TO THE MINISTRY OF WORKS

16

A key road that has been constructed is the one close to the Sandika, moving from Jobe Street to Mosque Road in Serekunda. The road is completed this year. However, since the drain on the side of the road is neither deep enough nor cleansed, it is covered with water and mud as if the road has been washed away. It is important for the minister of transport, works and infrastructure to pay a visit to the area.

This is a key intersection where major commercial activities are taking place. A huge investment has been made but the road risks being delipidated in a very short time due to factors that should be monitored by the National Roads Authority and managed by the Kanifing Municipal Council. Unless the central and municipal authorities focus their attention on this area where a hospital, a market, a mosque, schools and garages are all jumbled up within some two hundred metre radius the eye sores on the roads in the area will continue to serve as a source of disgrace to the nation.

Foroyaa will interview the minister in due course on his findings and recommendation.
