WILL FUEL PRICES CONTINUE TO BE ERATIC?

80

Fuel, like bread and rice, are inflation engineering commodities. The more their prices rise, the more many other commodities and services that are linked to them will also rise in cost and prices. For example, as fuel pric3es increase. One would expect drivers to increase fares. Such fares would have impact on all other commodities that are transported to the markets of the country or the cost of services that utilise fuel for generation capacity.

There are many ways that fuel prices could be managed. Foroyaa will engage the ministry of trade to find out how fuel subsidies or their absence are affecting the price fluctuation of fuel. The ministry of trade has been intervening to manage transport fares in light of rises in the price of fuel. The ministry of petroleum, energy and mines will require close collaboration with the ministry of trade to address the problem of price fluctuation and appreciation.
