The Government of The Gambia has not announced any initiative to engage in any consultation on the constitution building/making process. The Elections Bill is still in the consideration stage and a number of its provisions would require constitutional reform if they are to be implemented. This is the right opportunity to craft the text of the constitutional reform agenda for it to complement the electoral reform agenda. However, there is no sign from official quarters. The Gambia should not enter another electoral cycle without a term limit and fifty plus percent majority.
