A system was put in place for the purchase of groundnuts during the 2024/2025 trade season, which came to an end on 31st March 2025.
However, Foroyaa continued to receive complaints that people had taken their nuts to the seccos but were not paid. This was put to the GGC management, the Federation of Cooperatives (FACs), the apex body of cooperative societies and Qmoney for action.
It was initially indicated that they were reconciling their figures before they could address their complaints. Now the GGC is moving from one region to another in order to address the challenges associated with the trade season.
Payment is effected to those with receipts. GGC has also asked all those with unpaid receipts to write to FACs through their CPMS for consideration by the GGC management.
The GGC has indicated that this process is now complete.
