After the groundnut trade season ended on 31st March, 2025, the National Food Security Processing and Marketing Corporation, commonly known as GGC, prepared a report after the Federation of Cooperatives, the apex body of the cooperative societies of farmers, completed their reconciliation.
Last week the GGC proceeded to Upper River Region to assess unpaid sale of groundnuts that were delivered, and have resumed payments. The process was done in a transparent manner, in the presence of reporters. Management has taken the decision to recover the monies paid wherever the secco is liable.
The GGC should now be in the North Bank Region to handle similar complaints of unpaid sale of groundnuts that have been delivered. Foroyaa will report on developments.
