Fortune FC Wednesday defeated Bombada FC 2-0 at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama in game week 25 of the male domestic top-tier. The result could reignite their title hopes with a game hand as league leaders pursue to retain the title.

The Petroleum Boys have played two games less (22) than table-toppers Real De Banjul (24) ahead of yesterday’s match with the latter having a 11-point gap over them. They have reduced the deficit to eight points and could further reduce the points’ gap to five if they win their game in hand.

Ebou Sanyang opened the scoreline in the 17th minute of the game when he netted a header from a well-delivered Salifu Colley’s free kick. Bombada conceded an own goal six minutes before the interval to give Fortune a 2-goal cushion. Fortune held on to their lead after the interval to earn the maximum three points.
