Foroyaa is required by the Constitution like all media establishments to hold the Gambia Government accountable for the terms and conditions of service of domestic workers who are to work in Saudi Arabia through a joint initiative of the two countries.
This is why the ministry of trade has been contacted for concrete details of the terms and conditions of the domestic workers. Foroyaa is reliably informed that the basic salary is 200 dollars, but experienced employees will be paid up to 239 dollars a month. They are supposed to be entitled to annual leave of thirty days and one day of each week. They rest for a minimum of nine hours daily. The contract period is two years and is renewable.
