The Minister of Public Service, Baboucarr Bouy, has said his Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy with support from Bangladesh has started digitizing a government portal to expedite the delivery of public services.

The Minister said this during the Mansa Kunda press conference at the Sir DKJ Conference Centre on Friday, January 31.

The five public services are access to national identification cards, passports, driver’s licenses, birth certificates, and business registration.

“We are hoping when this process is concluded, citizens should not go through what they are going through,’ the minister added.

He said that many people face challenges including timely access to services, cost involved, and number of visits before getting services.

He said the government is using service process simplification to easily access the aforementioned services. He added that the digitization will review the current service process and protocol.

He further added that the exercise aims to make the process user-friendly, fulfilling multiple demands at once to satisfy the citizens.

He said they are also conducting an internal audit on all ministries except Basic and Secondary Education, Health, and Agriculture. He said the objective of this is to control the wage bill in the country.
