Today marks 25 days since Hatabu Hydara and Muhammed Fadel Hydara, aka Koto Amphal, the two brothers, were arrested from their family home in London 
Corner, Serrekunda, and detained at the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul.
This is in contravention of section 19 of the Constitution which requires that one should not to be held beyond 72 hours without being brought before a court or released.A family source has confirmed to this reporter that the two siblings are still being held and that they are again denied access to them.
“We are no longer allowed to have access to them at the NIA in Banjul,” he revealed.
The two Hydara brothers were picked up at their family compound at different times on Thursday, 9 July 2015, by security agents.
Muhammed Fadel was taken away around 8am, while Hatabu was picked up immediately after praying in the mosque at 2 pm.
Muhammed, the elder brother, is said to be a ‘marabout’ while Hatabu is the Founder and CEO of Ansarudeen Development Association, an Islamic charity organization based in Latrikunda German.
It was earlier reported that two vehicles, the Nissan and Mitsubishi, belonging to Hatabu were impounded and parked at the NIA headquarters in Banjul.
The families of the two brothers are therefore appealing to the President to extend the recent amnesty he has been giving to some detainees and convicts to help secure the release of their loved ones.
The employees of the NGO headed by Hatabu are also calling on the authorities to release him to enable them carry on with their lives and work as his continued detention is negatively impacting on them and their livelihoods.]]>
