AFTER SEVEN YEARS PRESIDENT BARROW SHOULD TAKE NOTE

98

It was symbolic for supporters of President Barrow’s party to occupy the roads with their water containers to signal, as he passed, that water was scarcely accessible. It is therefore necessary to point out to the President that water is generally scarcely accessible in the Kanifing Municipality.

In short, water is being rationed according to area and this causes some areas to get water at odd hours. Power outages in terms of electricity are still common in the area. It should be a major priority for the government to ensure the availability, accessibility and affordability of water and electricity to its population.

It is therefore important for the government to tell the people why they are still living with power outages and the rationing of water after seven years in office. The people are concerned. That should be taken note of by the executive. They need explanation and action to address these strategic challenges that are indispensable to better livelihood and successful socioeconomic development.
