Gambia to evacuate its nationals in War torn Lebanon

The Government of the Gambia has set in motion the process to evacuate Gambians living in Lebanon with immediate effectas Israel and Hezbollah traded missiles

The government announced Israel’s increased pounding of Lebanon to eliminate Hezbollah, a militia group supporter by Iran 

The trading of missiles between Israel and Hezbollah has made Lebanon unsafe for civilians. The government has urged all Gambians living in Lebanon to contact the Gambian Consulate in Beirut and the Director of Diaspora at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to register for evacuation.

The contacts can be found at www.diaspora.gm, the Ministry of Information, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Facebook pages.

Furthermore, families and friends in the Gambia are urged to engage their loved ones in Lebanon to share this information with them to ensure that every Gambian living in Lebanon becomes aware of this urgent offer of evacuation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a presser.

The government promised to continue the monitoring of the situation in the Middle East and would ensure the safety of Gambians.
