3 Drivers, Others in Custody for Alleged Drug Trafficking

 The Drug Law Enforcement Agency-The Gambia has recently apprehended and detained three drivers for alleged trafficking and possession of prohibited and controlled drugs, contrary to the laws of The Gambia. 

18-year-old Muhammed Jallow, a resident of Latrikunda and a mechanic by profession, was arrested by narcotic officers attached to the Manjai Police Station, with two parcels of suspected cannabis sativa, concealed in white papers and placed inside a small black bag.

20-year-old Bubacarr Fatty, and resident of Tubakuta, and KajallySarjo, residing in Tanji both of whom are said to be Drivers, were arrested by the Barra DLEAG Station at Barra Ferry Terminal with suspected cannabis sativa, allegedly concealed in cement papers and placed inside a black backpack.

“35-year-old SulaymanDambelly, a resident of Jalambang, was arrested by CTI at Nyambai Forest with five big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa which is concealed in cement papers and with a motorcycle registration number 9642A,” DLEAG said.

27-year-old Dommey Gaye, a resident of Bundung, and also a driver, was arrested by the Mandinaba DLEAG station with one hundred and twenty pills of suspected ecstasy which were concealed in a transparent medical sachet and placed inside a black cloth.

“All the suspects are currently in custody while further investigations continue,” the Anti-Narcotic Agency stated.
