Anybody who is imprisoned for remarks against a state or a president becomes a political prisoner. A democratic state should not have political prisoners. A democratic state is an open society where divergent views and dissenting opinions contend in order to shape the public mindset. In many cases, people who utter statements discredit themselves for their utterances rather than discrediting those they are directed to.
Dispute resolution mechanisms are also created to resolve disputes. We therefore hope that a leaf will be taken from the political experiences of other countries and avoid having a country where there are political prisoners. Countries that have political prisoners are never cited as examples to follow.
