Amadou Badjie, an administrator and finance manager of the Health Promotion and Development Organisation (HePDO) continued his testimony in the economic crimes and theft trial involving three (3) senior health officials.
The witness reiterated that he is familiar with Muhammed Sissoko and Basirou Phillot because he made payments in their names through cheques. He said that each was paid Four Million, One Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand, Five Hundred (D4, 138, 8, 500) on multiple instances in their names.
The witness stated that he could not remember the specific dates, but testified that it happened between 2018 and early 2020. He added that he only met them in 2024 at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
When asked how he could prepare cheques for people he has never met, the witness stated that Lamin Jarju, a former DPM of the National Malaria Control Program collected the cheques from him. He added Lamin Jarju was coordinating the project as he was the subject matter specialist.
The witness said he paid them in line with the agreement they signed with HePDO. He added that Balla Kandeh and the executive director were the signatories to the account.
