Apparently the OIC Summit is cast in storm. It will take place as scheduled. What is evident is that the summit will take place though the road projects are incomplete. The president told reporters that the road projects which were to be completed in December 2023 and April 2024 will be completed in December 2024. In short we are being told that the road projects will now be completed in December 2024.

Such a summit which is going to witness 57 heads of state coming to The Gambia is often utilized by host countries to build conference centres, five star hotels, highways, airports and other amenities as edifice that would outlive the summit with a view to promoting a developmental change for our country, especially in the tourism sector.
