Magistrate Fatou Darboe of Brikama Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday passed an order for one Musa Buah Sabally of Kassa Kunda, a land dealer, to be detained at Mile 2 Central for making a land transfer without lawful authority.
Assistant Superintendent Yaya Colley appeared for the Inspector General of Police while the land dealer was without a lawyer.
He was charged with making documents without authority and false assumption of authority.
The prosecution alleged that Musa Buah Sabally between the month of December 2023 to February 2024, at Kassa Kunda Village in the West Coast Region without authority or lawful excuse prepared land transfer documents and livestock ownership attestation on the names of Seedy Drammeh, Lamin Njie, Pierre Sarr, Saikouba Fatty and other unknown persons knowingly or having reasons to believe that he does not have such authority to do so. The prosecution alleged that the convict knew that such assumptions were false at the time.
He pleaded guilty to the charges and he was convicted. After this, the court passed an order for his remand at Mile 2. The case was adjourned to Tuesday, 29th April 2024 for sentencing.
