The Israelis and Palestinians are hostages of a political leadership in Israel that is yet to realise the danger it is putting a population of 9 million people in Israel and the 2 million and 3 million people in Gaza and West Bank respectively.
The suicidal mission of Hamas into Israel and the genocidal mission of Israel into Gaza as well as the adventurist attack of the Iranian consulate in Syria, and the response by Iran, all add up to put pressure on the two populations that are already traumatised by violence. Voices need to come from Israel and Palestine calling for a people to people relationship that would ultimately lead to a two state solution which would allow Palestinians and Israelis to live side by side in peace with themselves and their neighbours.
The world should take a new initiative to free the people from war mongers. That is the demand of the time and circumstances.
