Four Suspects Nabbed for Alleged Possession of Suspected Cannabis Sativa

The Spokesperson of the Drugs Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEA-G) Ousman Saidybah, on Monday, 11 March 2024 informed this medium that four suspects have been nabbed by officers of his agency for allegedly possessing suspected cannabis sativa. He said one 45-year-old Abdoulie Bojang, a farmer by occupation and Gambian by nationality and resident of Bajon Kooto village; 48-year-old Pa Badjie, a truck driver by occupation, Gambian by nationality and resident of Foni; 18-year-old Ousman Gibba, a Gambian by nationality, vehicle apprentice and resident of Dobong village in Foni, and 45-year-old Muhammed Sillah, a Gambian by nationality, farmer by occupation and resident of Bassending in the Upper River Region, were all arrested last Friday, 8th March 2024, with one hundred and twenty-four big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa. 

“Our operatives also seized a truck with registration number BJL 3540 H and a Mercedes Benz pick up with registration number WCR 6472 A, that were used to convey the said drugs. The suspects are currently in custody while further investigations continue in their case,” he said.

In a similar but separate development, Mr Saidybah said 19-year-old Omar Jallow was also arrested in Serre Kunda on the 9th of March 2024, with twenty-seven wraps of kush, and said 28-year-old Edrissa Jatta was also arrested in Pipeline on the same date with one big bundle of suspected Cannabis Sativa.
