The high court in Senegal has opened up the political landscape for Ousmane Sonko by affirming that he should enjoy all the rights aspiring candidates should enjoy in terms of gaining access to nomination forms. Apparently his envoys are still facing resistance in the allocation of the required forms. Those who withhold the giving of the forms may face court charges for contempt of court. It is best for electoral bodies and staff to abide by the dictates of the courts. The future will tell how mature Senegalese democracy has become. All Senegalese politicians are now waiting for judgment of history. Each should be ready to account for their actions.
