The Finance and Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly (FPAC) has made a total savings of Four Hundred and Eighty-Five Million Fifty Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-Three Dalasi (D485,050,993) from the recommended cuts on the 2024 estimates of revenue and expenditure of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The said savings were made from the cuts recommended by the committee in its consolidated report on the legislative committee’s bilateral with their line Ministries, Departments and Agencies on the MDAs’ 2024 estimates of revenue and expenditure.
The said estimate was tabled before the plenary on Monday 17th November, 2023 by the Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Seedy Keita at the National Assembly, for scrutiny, consideration and approval by the legislators.
The breakdown of the said total cuts and total savings are as thus;
Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs Eighty-Three Million Five Hundred and Fifty-Four Thousand Dalasi (D83,554,000); Centralized Services Two Hundred and Twenty Million Dalasi (D220,000,000); the National Assembly Fifteen Million Eight Hundred Thousand Dalasi (D15, 800,000); the Judiciary Seventy-Four Million Three Hundred Thousand Dalasi (D74,300,000); National Audit Office Thirty-Six Million Five Hundred and Eighty-Three Thousand Dalasi (D36,583,000); Independent Electoral Commission Forty- Eighty Million Five Hundred and Eighty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Dalasi (D48,582,500); the Ombudsman One Million Four Hundred and Seventy Thousand Dalasi (D1,470,000); Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Corporation and Gambians Abroad Four Million and Ninety-Two Thousand Dalasi (D4,092,000); and Ministry of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment Six Hundred and Sixty-Nine Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety-Three Dalasi (D669,493.00).
These cuts give a total savings of Four Hundred and Eighty-Five Million Fifty Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety-Three Dalasi (D485,050,993) from the recommended cuts on the 2024 estimates of revenue and expenditure of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
