WHAT IS GOVERNMENT’S INTENTION IN ADDRESSING THE BORDER QUESTION?

227

Senegal has had four presidents and The Gambia three but no two presidents of the two countries have been able to sit down and agree on a demarcation that will finally determine the territorial integrity of the two states. People at the border such as that of Darsilameh have received so many promises of a settlement without success.

A government can only be credible if it gives facts as they are to its people. There is therefore need for the Barrow administration to gather the facts as they are and convey them to the people undergoing difficulties regarding the un demarcated border so that they will find closure.

Problems without closure are conflict ridden. They make people lose trust in negotiations and discussion. Every negotiation and discussion should have a tangible and achievable goal. What the Barrow administration has achieved so far should be explained to the people. Foroyaa will do an inquiry to shed more light on this sticking problem which is yet to be resolved.
