The Police high command led by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdoulie Sanyang, on Tuesday 14th February 2023, visited Corporal Lamin Jammeh who is currently receiving medical treatment at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul.
“Cpl. Jammeh was alleged to have been shot on the hand during the alleged unfortunate armed attack on PIU officers and residents of Fass Njaga Choi on Sunday 12th February 2023,” the police said in a short statement.
According to the statement, the Police high command also used the opportunity to show solidarity with the mother of the PIU officer during the visit to the hospital.
According to the statement, the Police remain resolute in ensuring that the people behind these attacks will be identified and held accountable for their actions.
