THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHOULD GIVE AN OPINION

113

According to section 72 of the Constitution the Attorney General is the principal legal adviser of the government to the Government.  The issue of detention without trial should not be brushed under the carpet. There is the temptation to keep soldiers who are accused of coups under detention for more than 72 hours without subjecting them to any court action. The past should not be repeated. It should provide a lesson to serve the present and the future.

Section 19 of the constitution is very clear to those who have eyes and want to say the truth. We hope that the government will take note.
