Omar Colley, Gambian international football who plays for Italian Serie A club Sampdoria, was absent in his side’s 2-1 win over Sassuolo on Wednesday afternoon. The win was their second since the start of the season, occupying 18th place with 9 points.

The scorpions’ skipper, who is currently attracting suitors in the January transfer window according to online reports, was “out of the clash due to flu.” The reports suggest that Colley is once again on the radar of the premier league club Fulham who are willing to pay 5 million euros for the defender if they fail to buy Chris Smalling from AS Roma in Italy.

Elsewhere, Gambian striker Assan Ceesay’s Lecce also beat Lazio 2-1 in Serie A on Wednesday. Ceesay came from the bench in the 84th minute to replace fellow striker Lorenzo Colombo who scored the winning goal in the 71st minute. Lazio opened the scoreline in the 14th minute courtesy of Ciro Immobile before Gabriel Strefezza levelled the scores 11th minute into the second-half.

In the same league on the same day, Musa Barrow’s Bologna suffered a 1-0 defeat to Ebrima Darboe’s AS Roma through Lorenzo Pellegrini’s penalty in the 6th minute. Both players were not part of the clash.
