QUESTION OF THE DAY
The dust of the most gigantic nomination exercise Gambia has ever witnessed has now settled peacefully and the six candidates who have been nominated are almost set for the campaign trail.
The question is what is the next step of the presidential aspirants whose nominations have been rejected? Will the political parties that sponsor them or the Independent presidential aspirants simply fold their arms and watch as the presidential candidates battle for the hearts and minds of the electorate in the campaign trail? Or will the simply declare their support for a particular candidate and urge their membership to do so? Or will they seek alliance with the party they believe will pursue some of their objectives?
Foroyaa will monitor developments in the coming days.
Needless to say, two types of alliances are in the offing – an alliance for regime change and an alliance for system change.
